2012/2013 Grant Review Process Begins!
November 28, 2012 – Pangea has officially begun the formal review process of proposals for its’ 10th grant cycle which will start in March, 2013. Pangea members will be busy over the next few months, working with potential grantees (both new and past) to determine how they can best refine their proposals to meet the grant criteria established by each pod and to get questions answered about the proposed projects. All grantees under consideration must be involved in this thorough review process each year prior to funding. All Pangea members are encouraged to participate in some fashion. Most members choose one of the three pods (Asia, Africa, Latin America) to be involved with, while some are involved in multiple pods. At the beginning of the grant review process, each proposal is presented in detail and questions are gathered by a liaison assigned to each current or potential grant partner. These meetings usually take place in a member’s home and involve a tasty dinner. This evening, the Africa pod met in a wonderful cottage near Lincoln Park in West Seattle, enjoying Ground Nut African Stew, accompanied by a green salad and other goodies, with a packed agenda facilitated by our Africa Pod chair, Nathan Rosenbaum. Lots of rich and thought provoking discussions were happening indeed! Always something to be learned from our diverse group. Stay tuned for updates during this important process.
