We are a giving circle that gives our members and supporters direct, thoughtful, and effective ways to help grassroots organizations in the Global South to improve the quality of life in their communities.

• We support the self-defined needs of local communities
• We build the capacity of community organizations and leader to meet those needs
• We make grants in places where there are high levels of poverty and vulnerability to human rights abuses
• We believe that lasting change is built from the ground up

The Pangea model gives its members a unique opportunity to be involved directly in every aspect of the grantmaking process: from targeting regions and establishing criteria to the direct monitoring of needs and progress through personal site visits.

We believe that our own continuous learning and reflection, as well as establishing trusting, transparent and supportive relationships with our community partners, is essential to meeting our goals.

In addition to financing, we look for additional ways to provide support by sharing our knowledge, skills and connections to help our community partners’ to develop new resources.

Through our relationships with our partners, we promote greater access in partner communities to food, nutrition, education, health and opportunities for economic development.

Pangea aspires to be a catalyst for peace, social and economic justice.  We address root causes of poverty and inequality.  We share our time and wealth toward forming trusting relationships and models for useful change around the planet.

Theory of Change

In 2015 Pangea Giving members came together to develop a theory of change that articles how building trusting, transparent, and supportive relationships between members and grant partners can lead to social change and increased quality of life in the communities we support.
